Galvanised Chassis

The design of the chassis has been fully reviewed. Based on the experience gained from the thousands of Silo-Space units sold worldwide since their launch in the 1990s, our engineers took up the challenge and managed to combine sturdiness, ergonomics and economy in a brand new integrated chassis. On the Silo-Space2, the chassis is integrated into the body structure and thus forms a monocoque concept for a reduced empty weight and a higher body height for a larger volume. The assembly rests on 250 x 100 x 6 mm profiled tubes and a hot-dip galvanised framework (in the JOSKIN Group's galvanising plant) made of HLE steel. At the back of the integrated chassis, there is a folding bumper, which folds hydraulically under the machine when emptying in order to avoid the accumulation of silage. This system also reduces the possible risks of silage losses on public roads.

Comfort and Standard Suspensions

The Silo-Space2 is a machine that spends most of its working hours at high speed on public roads, which is why it should be as comfortable as possible. That is why JOSKIN has decided to fit all its Silo-Space2 with a drawbar suspension. On double-axle models, the standard suspension is mechanical. It is ensured by a bundle of cross leaves between the drawbar and the chassis to perfectly absorb shocks or movements. On triple-axle models, the suspension is ensured by two double-acting hydraulic rams with two large-capacity nitrogen accumulators. Nothing is more comfortable! Furthermore, the control box in the cab allows to modify the body slope. It is therefore ideal for your works on headlands, to go on heaps or simply to transfer extra weight to the rear axle of the tractor, especially in difficult harvesting conditions. Finally, all Silo-Space2 are standard fitted with Hydro-Tandem/Tridem bolted running gear. This suspension ensures a 24-cm clearance, a perfect load distribution and a maximal stability, even at high speed.

Moving Floor

In order to ensure a long-term sturdiness and powerfulness when unloading, the moving floor of the Silo-Space2 standard includes 2 moving parts with chains driven by 2 hydraulic motors with side gearboxes. The profiled slats are alternately placed in order to ensure an even load distribution. The yaw chains offer a high resistance to traction. Two sets of 4 wearing-off Ertalon rails are placed on both sides of the body to prevent the moving floor and the body floor from scraping each other (steel against steel). The two hydraulic motors driving the moving floor are fitted with two gears: the first one to set the moving floor in motion and progressively increase its speed, and the second one for a quick and regular unloading. The mechanical drive is still available as an option.
